Yorkshire-based company fined £50,000 for making almost 100,000 cold calls about pensions
The Information Commissioner's Office has fined a Yorkshire-based company £50,000 for making illegal marketing calls to people about their pensions.
Parkin Beacher Ltd (PBL) , which operates under the trading name ‘Your Pension Options’ and is based in Halifax, called people about their pensions when they were not authorised to do so, which is against the law.
The ICO’s investigation found that PBL made calls to people relating to possible pension reviews, with a view to arranging an introduction to an adviser.
