The programme, announced yesterday, also includes a show featuring works by pop artist Richard Hamilton who died in 2011. Henri Matisse will be celebrated at Tate Modern with 120 works drawing together paper cut-outs from his late career. It will unite some works for the first time since their creation 60 years ago, including his largest ever cut-out – Large position With Masks, which is 33ft (10m) long. Tate Britain will feature the late works of JMW Turner, focusing on those created from 1835, a period for which he drew much acclaim. Piet Mondrian’s abstract works will be at Tate Liverpool for the 70th anniversary of his death.
